Six years ago, my family gave me some gorgeous pink Swarovski crystal beads. I had been feeling a little low after having Breast Cancer surgery that summer. They had hoped the beads would give me something to do and encouraged me to take a beading class.
That was all it took. It was a terrific feeling making jewelry for family and friends. I fell in love with designing jewelry. It is so rewarding to know someone likes and wears what I have created.
In 2008, I was laid off from a job of 15 years that had so many rewards. After much encouragement from my family and friends, I obtained a business license and what had started out as just a hobby turned into a profitable business. I presently have my jewelry displayed online, in an art gallery in North Carolina, and a specialty shop in South Carolina. I have attended several indoor and outdoor sales events, and in November 2009, I had the pleasure to be invited as the sole jewelry vendor at the Protestant Women of the Chapel Regional Conference in Harrisburg, PA. I have most recently expanded my market via my website across the United States and into Europe.
I am a native of Illinois with a passion for gardening. My love of nature allows me to mix natural materials with semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals. I use only sterling silver, copper, aluminum, and gold-filled chain and findings. I like to show how combining pearls with crystals, gems, and/or glass make for an breathtaking piece. Pearls were once thought to be worn for formal occasions only - not any more. You will now look at pearls, as well as other gemstones and natural materials in a whole new way.
I specialize in creating mostly one-of-a-kind pieces with a few exceptions. I enjoy making personalized jewelry for individuals or groups, and can customize with colors and lettering. I can create unique pieces for special occasions or to match that perfect outfit.
I want to make jewelry that's as distinctive as my customers are, and create affordable, quality jewelry with a classic twist. I hope you enjoy this fun and fresh collection of my creations.
